An Post goes Green with FUSO Ireland’s eCanter, the World’s First All-Electric Light Truck

FUSO Ireland officially marked the recent launch of the first FUSO eCanters, the world’s first all-electric light truck, into the Irish Market at the iconic GPO with An Post. FUSO Ireland is delighted to be working with An Post as they become the very first postal service provider in the world to attain zero carbon emission delivery status within a capital city, following the addition of two FUSO eCanters to their Dublin city fleet.

Innovative research and development has always been at the core of FUSO. The 100% emission free FUSO eCanter is almost silent while still containing a powerful electric motor with 115kW (156hp) with a max torque of 390Nm. The FUSO eCanter has a range of over 100km with a full payload, up to 4.3t chassis load capacity as well as 30% lower maintenance costs and can reach a full charge in just 7 hours, with the option of fast charging in only one hour. The FUSO eCanter delivers on comfort too. The future-oriented interior comes equipped with ergonomic seating, 12” digital displays, a keyless push start, and button shift – resulting in hassle-free and low-cost operation.

Sales Manager of FUSO Ireland; Andrew Johnson commented: “We are delighted to provide the first eCanters in Ireland to An Post, to complete their objective of zero carbon emissions deliveries in Dublin city centre. An Post is leading the way for other Irish entities to follow the increasing need to rapidly reduce carbon emissions across our country. Our fully electric 7.49t FUSO eCanter has an important part to play, being the first all-electric truck in series production – and building on a proven brand heritage for alternative fuel vehicles which started with the Hybrid Canter back in 2006 in Japan.”
