Fastway Couriers in recruitment drive for over 600 seasonal jobs

Fastway Couriers (Ireland) is ramping up its delivery operations, recruiting over 600 seasonal roles including drivers and warehouse staff throughout its Irish network, to support the expected increase in delivery volumes for the remainder of the year.

Danny Hughes, Chief Executive Officer, Fastway Couriers Ireland said: “As the business evolves and grows, we continue to invest in our franchisees, colleagues, technology, and infrastructure to meet the growing demand of our valued customers.

“We’re super excited for this year’s peak season and the many challenges it will bring. We learn each year and have fine-tuned our process and procedures to cater for exceptional seasonal volume growth.

“Seasonal uplifts aren’t new to us, so the decision to invest in hiring 600 seasonal colleagues and drivers was an easy one.  It cements our vision and our continued commitment to our customers, to deliver a cost-effective, reliable, top-quality service, and this is especially important during the peak period.  Not only that, but these additional seasonal positions will support our Courier Franchisees to continue to deliver the highest possible level of service to customers.”

Over the last number of years, the dramatic increase in online activity has been phenomenal, however, this has been supercharged by Covid-19.  Fastway Couriers key strength is their local courier franchisees, who lead the recruitment drive each year to recruit sufficient resources to meet demand at a local area level. Fastway is strongly positioned within the retail and e-commerce space and with the additional investment in seasonal drivers and warehouse staff, means the network will be well equipped to handle the expected increase in traffic from online shopping.

Elaine Mailey, HR Director, Fastway Couriers, added “The role of a seasonal driver can be a challenging one and can be particularly demanding during “peak season”.  However, it can also be a very rewarding job, especially when you deliver that all-important special package for that someone special or from someone very special.”
