IFS Global Logistics has announced the appointment of Dr Kieran Kennedy MBE as its new Executive Group Chairman. This strategic leadership move was endorsed by the company’s shareholders and directors as part of IFS’s renewed focus on growth and diversification.
Dr Kennedy brings more than four decades of experience in business leadership, particularly within the manufacturing and enterprise sectors. He is known for his tenure as Managing Director of O’Neills Irish International Sports Company Ltd and has served on numerous trade and enterprise boards, including Invest Northern Ireland.
Having joined IFS in February, Dr Kennedy is guiding strategic initiatives to expand services and enhance operational performance across the Group’s core divisions – Courier Express, Air Freight, Sea Freight, and Warehousing.
Founded in 1967 by Walter Anderson, Ireland Freight Services grew into a respected and successful logistics business under his leadership. Following Mr Anderson’s passing in 2022, ownership transitioned to his two daughters, who now play an active role in the business’s ongoing development.
Recognising the need for renewed strategic direction, the leadership team appointed Dr Kennedy to provide experienced oversight and help steer the company into its next phase of growth.
