
Keeping his mind and body active are two of the main reasons why Ignatius Kelly (known to all as Iggy) from Draperstown is still driving a truck at 80 years of age.
Iggy, who turned 80 in May 2025, has been driving for over 60 years and currently works for Lissan Coal Company (LCC).
“I have always been a driver. My father was an agricultural contractor, and when I left school at 16 I started helping him driving tractors, threshers and bailers. My father then started buying spuds and selling fertilizer so I helped out with this too driving lorries and doing deliveries.”
