Outstanding Achievement Award for Seamus Leheny at CILT dinner

Logistic UK’s former Policy Manager for Northern Ireland Seamus Leheny was presented with the ‘Outstanding Achievement Award’ at the recent Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport NI’s annual dinner.

The event was held at Titanic Centre in Belfast, compered by broadcaster and TV presenter Adrian Logan with guest speaker Martin O’Neill, former Northern Ireland football captain.

Commented Seamus, who has been succeeded by Nicola Mallon as UK Logistic’s Head of Trade & Devolved Policy, says he was ‘truly humbled and proud to receive the CILT NI Outstanding Achievement Award for 2022.’

He added: “Working in and representing the logistics sector opened so many doors and opportunities for me and I’ll forever be indebted to all those businesses and professionals who aided me along the way. I’ll cherish this recognition for years to come. To be congratulated by the legend Michael O’Neill topped it off.

“Huge thanks to everyone in the sector and especially the NI CILT committee including Imelda Haran, Nick McCullough, Pamela Dennison, Paul Harden and NI CILT Chair Gary Barnes, all of whom delivered a great event yet again.

“I may have moved on from Logistics UK and the sector now ,but I leave it in the excellent hands of Nichola Mallon and Jayne Currie who will take it from strength to strength here in NI.”

In his acceptance speech Seamus highlighted the importance of mentoring. “That’s what got me where I am today and I urged everyone in the room to ensure they mentor those young staff members who will be the industry leaders of tomorrow.”

Added Nicola Mallon: “It was wonderful to see Seamus get this recognition from the logistics industry in NI, so well-earned and deserved.”

The annual dinner raised £7,000.00 for CILT’s chosen charity, The NI Children’s Hospice, so a big congratulations to everyone who generously contributed.
