RHA’s new Policy Lead for Trade and Borders, Alastair Gunn joined Martin Reid (RHA), Mark Tait (Target Transport) and Ally Hobson (Montgomery Group) at Stormont last week. They were invited to give evidence to the NI Economy Committee about issues when moving goods from GB to NI. Following their appearance before the committee Martin and Alastair met with a few members to celebrate National Lorry Week. Thanks to Brian Beattie at McCulla Transport, Fiona Derry at Derry Group Ireland and Geoff Potter of Gray and Adams for supporting National Lorry Week.

Alastair joins the RHA following a career working in political roles within Westminster and local government and has strong experience of the UK Parliament system and on delivering ambitious policy agendas. He is being brought in to bolster the RHA’s policy team by focusing on supporting practical solutions to the growing number of challenges UK hauliers find at the borders, and getting the sector’s problems heard and understood by those in key Westminster positions.”
