Seatruck Ferries Seeking Commercial General Manager

Seatruck Ferries Ltd, the only dedicated ‘freight-only’ ferry operator on the Irish Sea, is seeking a Commercial General Manager.

Established in 1996 with a single vessel, there is now a fleet of 12 modern roll-on roll-off freight ferries operating across the Irish Sea, ranging in capacity from 65-130 unaccompanied trailers and delivering approximately 350,000 freight units per annum.

Having demonstrated significant growth in the last decade, they have cemented their name as one of the primary players in the Irish Sea having invested €400m on new vessels during this period.

In March this year Seatruck were awarded the prestigious Mersey Maritime Business of the Year Award marking a tremendously positive year for the business and reaffirming their position as the fastest growing freight ferry business on the Irish Sea.

The company now wants to appoint a new Commercial General Manager to the senior team to lead all commercial activity across the UK, Northern Ireland and Ireland.

With a remit to devise and execute a strategic plan for the commercial growth of the business, the role requires an accomplished commercial leader with an impressive track record of business development, sales and marketing within the ferries, maritime or logistics industries, preferably with a sound working knowledge of Anglo-Irish supply chains and an awareness of the transport and haulage sectors on both sides of the Irish Sea.

Strategic, emotionally intelligent and with a character that naturally lends itself to inspirational people leadership, the successful candidate should be able to develop strong internal and external relationships including intelligent customer engagement with customers of varying size and stature. “This is a rare and exciting opportunity to lead an established sales team at a time when company performance is at its strongest since inception twenty one years ago.”
