South West College to host Get Transporting event  

South West College’s Dungannon Campus is preparing to host a Get Transporting event on Saturday 12th June 10am – 12noon.  

If you are interested in a career in the sector come along and meet employers who currently have vacancies for diverse roles such as Picking, Packing, Driving, Despatching, roles in legal and compliance, become a manager and direct these operations in many sectors not just Transport.

Local employers including WS Dennison, Manfreight, Derry Group Ireland  and other employers in many diverse sectors including engineering and construction have job opportunities in this vibrant industry.

Transport and Supply Chain is an important function of any company, organising raw material inwards and despatching finished good out to the end customer across all sectors locally, nationally and internationally.

Job opportunities exist in local family run Small Medium Enterprise to large multinational companies. It incorporates movement of people, materials and finished goods by road, air, rail and sea. The opportunities for a fantastic career in this sector following a degree in Transport and Supply Chain Management are endless. At the event you can meet representatives from these companies to hear about current vacancies and speak to them about how they got to where they are today.

Featured on the day will be the Foundation Degree and Top Up BSc (Hons) degree in Transport and Supply Chain Management. The programmes are validated by The Open University. These are offered on a full-time and part-time basis.

For anyone working in industry the foundation degree can be undertaken on a Higher Level Apprenticeship option (subject to approval). Department for Economy Skills Focus funding is available for eligible employers.

Prospective students will get an opportunity to talk to tutors about the course, entry requirements and pathways to careers on successful completion of the course.

Successful graduates are eligible to apply for membership to Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport UK.
