UK Managing Director Appointed at Harris Maxus

Dublin headquartered Harris Group, the leading commercial vehicle distribution company, has appointed the highly-experienced Andrew Lawson as Managing Director for Harris Maxus UK.

Harris Group’s appointment of Andrew is in preparation for further growth which forms a raft of changes to company operations, including bringing its entire Irish and UK marketing functions in-house, and appointing a new legal counsel.

With a distinguished 20-year career in the commercial vehicle industry, Andrew Lawson has held pivotal roles including Sales Director at Mercedes-Benz UK, and Director of Fleet at Mercedes-Benz USA. In his new role, Andrew will lead Harris Maxus UK’s growth initiatives and support the dealer network, leading a new dedicated team of Harris Maxus staff based in the UK.

Renowned for his innovative approach and commitment to challenging the norm, he brings a unique perspective and strong leadership to Harris Maxus UK. His appointment – effective from 4th November – is designed to stabilise the company’s success, prepare for future growth, and enhance investment in people and relevant processes.

Andrew’s background in developing innovative fleet strategies, his professionalism and relationship with the franchise dealer network and work with industry-leading clients globally will be instrumental in driving Maxus’s continued success. He will be able to draw on his global expertise in sales, after-sales support, and production planning. He is also looking forward to strengthening his relationships with the UK business community.

Andrew’s appointment also marks a significant step in advancing Harris Group’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the electric vehicle (EV) sector. He will report directly to the Group Managing Director Brian Patterson.

Strengthening Dealer Support

In plans to adapt to the rapidly changing motor landscape, Harris Group is also bringing its entire marketing function in-house. This strategic shift aims to drive growth and strengthen support for dealer partners. New marketing managers for Harris Maxus UK and Harris Group Ireland will join in November, with plans to expand resources and further boost marketing capabilities.

Harris Group is also strengthening its compliance and governance framework with the addition of a new legal counsel. This appointment will bolster the Group’s capacity to ensure the highest standards in all aspects of operations.
