Webinar – Commercial Tyre Development in Response to EU Emissions Regulation

The Institute of Road Transport Engineers (IRTE) Ireland North Centre will be hosting a webinar, in conjunction with Bridgestone Tyres, on Thursday 3rd June 2021 at 19.30 to look at the importance of tyres in reducing CO2 emissions from commercial vehicles.

The first-ever EU-wide CO2 emission standards for heavy-duty vehicles (Regulation (EU) 2019/1242), introduced in 2019, set targets for reducing emissions from new lorries by 2030.  To enable manufacturers and operators to achieve these targets, the European Commission launched the Vehicle Energy Consumption Calculation Tool (VECTO), a computer programme which can simulate the CO2 emissions and fuel consumption of individual truck configurations from heavy-duty vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight above 3500kg (trucks, buses and coaches).  The tool is mandatory for certain vehicle categories of new trucks under type approval.

This webinar will explore new developments in commercial tyre development to enhance sustainability and provide fleet operating cost savings for the commercial sector.

This webinar will be hosted by Conor Curran, Commercial Sales Manager and Andrew Bushe, Commercial Sales Consultant, Bridgestone NV/SA – Ireland Branch.

The webinar is open to members and non-members and will be hosted by Bridgestone on Microsoft Teams.  Registration is now open at https://www.soe.org.uk/events/commercial-tyre-development-with-bridgestone.html
