Ford & Slater Delivers New-Gen DAF Trucks to Wedge Group Galvanizing

Ford & Slater, one of the largest DAF Trucks dealers, has successfully completed the delivery of five high-spec DAF XD trucks to Wedge Group Galvanizing Ltd., marking a significant advancement in the galvanizing leader’s logistical and operational capabilities.

These vehicles are numbered 60 – 65 in the Wedge Group Fleet which includes more than 100 vehicles and represent the first New Generation DAF Trucks that Wedge will have taken.

Wedge Group Galvanizing, with a rich history extending over 150 years, stands as the market leader in hot dip galvanizing industry in the UK. Operating out of 14 optimally located plants, the company is dedicated to providing comprehensive galvanizing services nationwide, with a keen emphasis on sustainability and environmental responsibility. The acquisition of the new generation DAF trucks delivered by Ford & Slater plays a pivotal role in enhancing Wedge Group’s fleet, demonstrating a shared commitment to excellence and innovation in service delivery.

These state-of-the-art trucks are designed to meet the stringent GSR11 standards, incorporating advanced safety technologies such as the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and DAF Side & Turn Assist.

With a 3 Star DVS rating straight from the factory, these vehicles are tailored to elevate safety standards, featuring an array of enhancements such as the innovative foldable cinema co-driver seat for enhanced comfort during long hauls.
